The renovation of the home’s living area followed the architecture. We stripped the space of everything unnecessary, allowing its essential elements to speak – concrete, light, wood, and views.
Four concrete columns embrace the staircase, forming the heart of the home. Their monumental presence is complemented by dark walnut, whose distinctive character anchors the space and defines its individual areas. Light natural tones, textiles, and a long veil of curtains bring softness and a sense of openness.
Walnut and concrete define the character of the space. White opens it up again. A tinted mirror multiplies the view, adding a moment of surprise.
Light is almost invisible. Concealed within the architecture, it flows softly through the space, connecting it into a whole.
Despite the concrete, the space feels warm. Despite its monumentality, it feels soft.
And it is precisely within this contrast that mo(nu)ment emerges.
